About Us

Our Mission

We uphold a dual focus on business excellence and patient care, offering unparalleled leadership and an innovative business model to physicians committed to actively managing and leading their practice. Equally, we are dedicated to providing superior patient care, ensuring that every patient receives the highest standard of medical treatment and compassionate service.

Our Vision

We aspire to set the standard for physician-owned and operated medical practices, leading by example in healthcare excellence and operational integrity.

Who We Are

Bay Area Emergency Physicians was established in 2001 and has since grown into a team of over 20 dedicated emergency medicine physicians and more than 20 advanced practice providers. Throughout our history, we have continuously provided high-quality emergency care to the Tampa Bay area. Our group boasts an extraordinarily low turnover rate among physicians, underscoring our commitment to creating a stable and supportive work environment. As we look to the future, we remain eager to seize new opportunities for growth and to further our impact within the community we serve.

Our group proudly staffs three key emergency departments: Morton Plant Hospital, Bardmoor Emergency Center, and Morton Plant North Bay Hospital. We share a common mission with these hospitals and have cultivated a strong culture of collaboration with hospital administration, nursing, and clinical support staff. This teamwork is essential to our ability to provide exceptional care and to integrate seamlessly with the larger healthcare system.

Our Commitment to Physician Ownership and Partnership

Bay Area Emergency Physicians is a small, democratic, and physician-owned group, committed to maintaining a model that benefits both our patients and our doctors. Our partnership track spans three years, after which physicians become fully vested partners. Unlike publicly traded companies, our structure ensures that revenue generated is returned to physician equity owners rather than external shareholders. Equity owners enjoy equal voting rights and the opportunity to be elected to the Board. Partners benefit from flexible shift schedules managed through Qgenda, comprehensive health insurance options through United Healthcare, company-funded long-term disability, malpractice insurance coverage, a night differential, a 401K with company match, stipends for committee delegates, a business expense account, equity owner bonuses, and much more, making Bay Area Emergency Physicians not only a place to practice medicine but a place to grow and thrive both professionally and personally.

Our Values

Integrity

We hold ourselves to the highest standards of business ethics and professional standards, helping to guide our commitment to ethical, transparent, and compassionate care.

Communication

We believe that honest, open and direct communication is a very important component to achieve the goals of the hospital. We listen, learn and help lead the way to success.

Solution-Oriented

We are dedicated to solving the challenges of our hospital partners. As physician owners, we are accountable for all problems and embrace opportunities to innovate and enhance patient outcomes and healthcare efficiency.

Collaboration

We are committed to cooperation and champion teamwork as we work with our hospital staff and community partners to deliver seamless and superior care.
